Unfortunately no Glock 29/30 options yet... but I just ordered a setup for my G36, I'll review it once I give it a try. Hoping for something that works better during exercise than my IWB crossbreed holster, which always feels like my pistol is going to come flying out. -

Received my belly band yesterday. It's great quality, but the top (rear) of my G36 is just heavy enough that it tends to want to pull away from my body, and also feels like it might bounce out of the holster when running (although it probably wouldn't). I just ordered one of the $5 velcro retention straps from them to see if it helps reduce those problems, I'll report back.Comment

Cockedandglocked, don't let the name fool you, its meant to be worn IWB, there is no way it should be puling over if worn IWB like it's meant to be. Rob Pincus who is a sponsored by them, and an excellent trainer, head of I.C.E. and the PDN Network demonstrates. http://www.personaldefensenetwork.co...lsters-010341/
Well worth watching if you purchased one of the Crossbreed type holsters.Comment

As an active guy, and I wear shorts 99% of the time, this is the kind of setup I will run when I get done with the AZ ccw.10 +1 in the chamberComment

Excellent. Any Bellyband will. The issue with using them with scrubs is contamination when the carrier gets body fluids on them. A number of my doctors use compression Tee Shirts with deep v-neck or modified scrubs (false side) for this reason.
You can wear a bellyband nude and it will hold the gun. Many also will hold a pair of spare mags, mag & knife etc. The big thing is if you going to wear daily you really need three so you can launder them. They are typically hand wash.Comment

5.11 makes a compression holster shirt. Ambidextrous as well.10 +1 in the chamberComment

I've been doing some research and it seems like a belly band that has an actual molded holster - like the Crossbreed - is a better choice. Especially for reholstering. The elastic pocket only models seems like they would be real hard to put a weapon back. Cheaper in price, but not as user friendly.10 +1 in the chamberComment

Holstering and reholstering is, indeed, pretty much exactly the same as it is with my IWB crossbreed holsters. I'm not too sure about the retention yet though, but to be fair I haven't had a chance to try running with it yet since I bought itI've been doing some research and it seems like a belly band that has an actual molded holster - like the Crossbreed - is a better choice. I'll post an update here once I've given it some real-world use.Comment

I just got some of the velcro support straps, and maybe I'm just an idiot but for the life of me I can't figure out what I'm supposed to do with the small (vertical) strap. There are no instructions and the picture on their website is useless, when I try to use them like that, no matter which way I flip it around, one end of the strap ends up being hook-side against hook-side or loop-side against loop-side. I can't make any sense of it. The only way I can seem to make it work is to twist the strap 180 degrees, but then the strap has a stupid twist in it that bulges out. Anyone have any insight?

It really depends. For a number of my clients reholstering isn't that much of an issue, retention, conceal-ability and flexibility are issues. You'll notice the Ron makes the point that its hard to reholster safely in a training environment. Narcotics and Gang Enforcement are usually interested in load bearing stability and stealth. Civilians are concerned more with re-holstering.I've been doing some research and it seems like a belly band that has an actual molded holster - like the Crossbreed - is a better choice. The civilian versions will typically have a gun pocket, not retention, and perhaps a place for a mag or two.
The LEO version can be as simple as a side loading belly band for a full size light equipped gun or compact gun for off duty carry, or a full tactical rig with one or two guns, three or four mags, handcuffs, flashlight, and either a second set of cuffs or cell phone. smooth to the body and concealable being the keys.
I haven't had anyone buy one for use on a sport bike, but I am convinced the side loader would work great and be more comfortable with full leathers than other means.Last edited by grantar2; 05-31-2016, 7:46 PM.Comment
