    Shield Mag Holders

Has anyone found a decent mag holder for their Shield? I tried Blackhawk's but they jut out too much from the belt and the clip is a PITA to don and doff.

I'm interested in OWB and prefer a clip rather than having to slide it through my belt. I suppose any mag holder for a single stack 9mm will do.

    Thanks in advance...

I made my own with a piece of Kydex, a heat gun some foam and 2 pieces of plywood. Youtube has many excellent videos on sheath and holster making. It's not rocket science and frankly most of the guys selling holsters are way overcharging people for $5 worth of hardware and 30 or 45 minutes of labor.

I have an IWB style Shield mag pouch from Overwatch Holsters, owned by a CalGunner. Love the way it can easily clip on and off easily. It works just fine as an OWB style as well, just know that the orientation of the mag is reversed.

Do you have a pic of what you'll be getting and how much they'll be selling for?

Look into a Theis mag holster.

I picked one of these up for $40 it's not bad for carrying 2 extra mags. Nice and tight to the body, leather seems to be decent quality. So far it seems to be working out fine.

I was searching for a mag holder the other day and ran across Snag Mag. They seems like a quality product. When ordering for a "right hand shooter", you get a mag holder for left pocket.

The SNAGMAG™ is a custom fit accessory.* The floor plate should sit below the top edge of the SNAGMAG™, Figure 1. This may require you to gently move the top

I bought mine through a seller on eBay named Ftaholster. Search him by seller name. He hand makes them, they can be used as IWB or OWB. You have them for left or righty and they can be for 1.5 inch or 1.75 inch belts. I bought the 1.5 inch for $18 free shipping and I asked him for a spare clip in 1.75 if I paid for it extra. I think he charged me $20 total or somewhere around that. I wanted the spare clip in the other size so if in the future I get a new belt then I can change out the clip and still use the mag holster. I really like it and use it for my EDC. It's comfortable, doesn't get in the way and is pretty concealable. The picture doesn't do it justice, it's made very well out of kydex. I have it for the Shield but he makes them for Glocks and other models as well.

Note: the link above is for a current listing so if the link is broken in the future just type in Ftaholster and his items will come up in the search.

I like this carrier; I use one for my 1911 magazines and another for the Shield. I find that the Snagmag uses up pocket space since I carry a light as well. Kydex works nicely too but I personally find that they bulge more than a leather carrier and tends to catch on things like car seats and backpacks. The OWB style holds closer to my body and slides along things that would normally catch.

It's all personal preference and as well as trial and error. That's how you end up with a bin of holsters and carriers.

I've been using a Comp-Tac Single Mag Pouch for several months. It has a tension screw and the clip is really solid when you use a regular thick gun belt.

Tried a Wilderness Tactical Mag Pouch (Horizontal Option B) for the first time today. However, unlike the pic, I wore it at 11 o'clock as some of the reviews had mentioned. Very comfortable. I didn't even notice I was wearing it. It's a change from the usual kydex. Nylon with a polymer stiffener.

The Pistol Mag Pouch is constructed as a rugged sandwich consisting of an internal polymer stiffening layer for pressure retention, a thin layer of closed-cell foam facing inward for molded retention to the specific contours of the magazine, and covered by a layer of robust 1000d Cordura nylon. This creates a friction-fit mag pouch allowing immediate access to the magazine without the need of a retaining strap.

The mArket is flooded with options. I switched all of my holsters and mag pouches to www.lagtactical.com
I run a dual mag pouch. It sits on my waist all day.
