    Crossbreed Believer

    I am a believer!

I like every other gun owner out there that carries have a drawer full of holsters. I have tried Alien Gear (2.0), Uncle Mike's, Galco KingTuk, Nate2tactical and a couple others.

I finally broke down and ordered 2 crossbreeds, one for my M&P Shield and the other for my XD45C for when I want to carry a punch. I put both on to try them out starting with the XD45C which hides very well. Only wore that one for about 1 hour with no issues. Then I put my Shield on and wore it the rest of the day. Changed oil on my truck plus some other maintenance items. Messed around in the garage, made dinner, etc....you get the idea. I didn't even know it was there. Sitting right now in my recliner typing this with the shield on my side, like is was meant to be there as there are no pressure points or irritations, it just fits and snugs to the body.

Last week I was on travel in Virginia and Utah carrying my shield in my AlienGear and even though it is quite comfortable, the Crossbreed in one day has all ready replaced the AlienGear who will join all the others in the drawer.

While everyone always says find what works best for you, if you are wondering what holster to start with for your first CCW holster, cough up the bucks and get a Crossbreed! It will save you in the long run as you may not end up with a drawer full of holsters. Just my opinion, YMMV.

    Everyone be safe out there!

I like the crossbreed holster too. My only dislike is in would like more kydex on the outside.
You could also try concealment solutions. I know he can make just about anything you want. Pretty good guy to deal with too.

Crossbreed is a quality product, and a quality company. I know of only one person that has had problems with theirs, and that was a matter of squeeking.

OP you certainly don't need another holster, but if you happen to be at the Del Mar Crossroads of the West Gun Show this weekend, and stop by Packin' Fur Defense, I will show you a hybrid you will like as much or better.

I really like my crossbreed, I have one for the shield. I also have a galco and the crossbreed is much more comfortable. The only issue I have with the crossbreed is it does creek / squeak at times.

I have put those little felt furniture pads (the ones that go on the bottom of bar stool legs)behind the clips. Just stick them on the metal clip. It will eliminate the squeak. That or I've heard of rubbing the leather with baby powder. Though I haven't tried it.

Do you recommend the super tuck or mini tuck?

I have the shield and a remora and it isn't that comfortable at the moment.

If your located in OC you should stop by my store in Mission Viejo, and try one of ours before making a decision.

Just saw your store online. I'm in HB. How similar is your hybrid holster to that of the crossbreed in terms of quality?

I have the super tuck for both the shield and the XD45C. I read online reviews and most preferred the super so that is what I went with.

As a follow up: I wore the XD45C super tuck for a day and same thing, other then the additional weight, no issues very comfortable. Other than the bianchi for my S&W 642, these are the only holsters (IWB) that I will be wearing from this point forward.

On another note, Crossbreeds website states there is a different holster for the XDSC's. I have been using my XD45C super tuck for my XD40SC and it fits just fine and is secure for those of you that may be wondering.

I have two Crossbreeds, they are okay. I tried a friend's AlienGear which I liked but they are huge. I am really happy with my Minotaur MTAC holster at this time, I find it the most comfortable really and it is smaller than like holsters, smaller footprint than the Supertuck. Also the MTAC has separate bodies or shells that fit the platform so you can have multiples handguns on one holster.

It is worth looking into IMHO: http://www.comp-tac.com/mtac-holster-10225

I'm a big fan of the Theis holsters, especially when you can get the horsehide. Design-wise they seem to be similar to the crossbreed only with the "combat cut" standard instead of an upgrade. I've taken even more leather off on mine just so that I can get a full grip without rubbing my thumb on leather.

So for a comparable product to crossbreed for 1/2 the price and excellent customer service, I'm more than happy with Theis.

Wow, that Theis looks exactly like a Crossbreed. I still need to buy an AlienGear, I'll have to add that to the list of holsters to try.

Crossbreed makes a good product. My first holster was a crossbreed and i liked it.

I took a gamble and ordered a holster from Ozarks Holster Company when i needed another one and it was 99% identical to crossbreed but way cheaper and i had it in one week. I'm a huge Ozark fan now. The guy makes them at his home, he only sells what he has in stock (no crazy wait time) and they're made well. If you can afford a CB holster and don't mind the wait, you can't go wrong but you're paying a premium for the name. If you like that hybrid style holster but want it quicker and cheaper then look into Ozark. They even have a lifetime guarantee just like CB. I have a couple buddies that liked mine enough to buy theirs from Dustin at Ozark.

I carry my S&W M&P 40C in a crossbreed all day long. I was camping out at Cuyama last weekend and at the end of the day crawled in the back of the truck to sleep and laid down on my gun. I had forgotten that I had it on after 12 hours of carrying it that day.

I ordered another one for my Steyr M40A1 when I got home Sunday night.
