Galco Ankle Glove - Glock 26/42 Compatibillity???

    Hey all,

Does anyone own a galco ankle glove for a glock 26 and have tried to put a glock 42 in it?

I know that Galco makes a 42 ankle glove, but I carry a 26 and 42 so I was thinking if the 42 would fit properly in the 26 ankle glove, I could have a one size for both.

If anyone has tried this I would love some input!

    Thankyou all in advance.

i don't own the Galco holster, but the size difference between the G26 and G42 appears to be significant enough to be prohibitive for a same holster fit. get a dedicated holster for each of your Glocks.

Have you carried in an ankle holster? I got a decent one for a Ruger sp101.

Hated it. It was comfortable, as in it didn't hurt, but it felt funny and rode really low.

Can't hlep other than to agree the two you are discussing have a pretty significant size difference.

I roll with a G27 in an Alessi ankle rig when my G22 in a IWB doesn't fit the occasion. Very comfortable and great retention; no complaints.

the OldSchool Alessi ankle holster is the gold standard that all ankle holsters are measured by; good as it gets.

electrickill, the Glock 42 and Glock 26 should not be able to properly fit one holster. thee is too much variation in size. I would think retention would be compromised.

No admittedly self serving and I wish you were closer to Orange County as my CCW store opens Tuesday of next week in Mission Viejo, but have you tried the Sticky Holster AnkleBiter Rig. The basic ankle rig works with the gun specific holster to provide a very comfortable, very secure holster. I usually only sell these to LEO's, and for them it's typically a third gun, but it works well.

If you have tired one, you should consider it. Since the holsters themselves are typically $25 each, it means when you change guns, your only changing the holster, and then only if the gun is a substantially different size.

For you it would the AnkleBiter Rig, and MD-1 and and MD-4. If you decide to go down that path, you can check out www.PackinFurDefense.com use Calguns10 at checkout for a 10% discount on the order.

Thank you all for the input! I'll look at the alessi and check out the ankle biter holster. I figured retention would be of because of thickness difference, but worth asking. ...

                thank you for the input!

i can't comment on the quality of the Alessi holsters that have been made since the passing of the late Lou Alessi because all of my Alessi holsters were made during his lifetime. the current retail price for an ankle holster offered by Alessi Holsters, Inc. is $165.00.

i suggest considering an OldSchool (made during the lifetime of Lou Alessi) Alessi holster from ebay or Gunbroker. ebay seems to produce more examples that come up for auction than Gunbroker does, while Gunbroker frequently has better prices for the end user. the price variance on a used example at auction is somewhere between $90.00-$125.00 and well worth the time in your search and money spent on the purchase. some amount of patience and tenacity will be required to yield desired results.

the older Alessi ankle holster can be found for the G26, but not for the G42 because the G42 was introduced after the passing of Lou Alessi.

if you want a new holster of recent/current production, consider a Ritchie ankle holster (Ritchie Leather Co. Inc.). Skip Ritchie has a stellar reputation. he was taught by and worked with Lou Alessi and became his business partner in the holster making business. ankle holsters for both the G26 and G42 can be purchased from Ritchie Leather Company. it is my understanding that Ritchie Leather Company is a small three-man shop and attention to detail is a feature of their gunleather. the retail price offered on his internet site is $150.00 for the ankle holster.

TGS (Top Gun Supply) offers the Ritchie Leather Company ankle holster from it's internet site. TGS has a great reputation and deservedly so. the Ritchie ankle holster for the G26 is offered for $150.00 and $140.00 for the G42 from TGS.
