    CCW Backpack recommendations?

Anyone have any experience with some of the CCW Backpacks on the market? I am in need of a new backpack and I would like to get one that has a hidden CCW compartment, and a place to store my laptop separate from the rest of the storage. I'd like a bag that has a large storage capacity.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Meant to post this in the equipment section, sorry!

I would very strongly recommend against any type of 'off body' carry.

I've no other information for you regarding your question specifically, but the 5.11 rush 24 is a very very nice pack...

I agree with Postal, unless you have control of the gun which is always a risk if its off body, you pick up the liability for all that may happen. Moreover if you are where minors or felons might have access to it, and it's not securely locked you put yourself a huge risk.

      Consider both carefully.

I would have to agree, to me (never have having a LTC/CCW) that it would seem "sketchy" to me to not carry on me and would be very paranoid

Let's presume he has done the investigation of his circumstances, and has found such off-body carry is appropriate.

I used off-body carry once-in-awhile, and use a Maxpedition Monsoon. I don't think this meets your criteria, though, since it doesn't have a separate space for a laptop.

I do love how many of the Maxpedition packs have a setup in their water bladder area for a holster to be placed. With my Monsoon, my access to my pistol is very fast.

You might look at their Falcon II or Condor II.

I like this one. Nice pistol compartment. Well padded and comfortable straps. Great quality. Lock accepting zipper pulls if you ever want to add small locks.

                Getting a backpack stolen sucks.
Getting a backpack with laptop stolen is even worse.
Getting a backpack stolen with laptop and a gun in it, well you're screwed.

Keep the gun on you, it's a little more secure, a backpack is an easy thing to grab.

Ok to clarify, I have never carried off body before, but there are certain situations that I absolutely cannot carry on my person. However, I already have to carry my backpack most places and keep it close to me at all times, because I have my laptop in it. It never leaves my sight, and generally is always within my reach. I understand the risks of carrying off body. Right now I am looking for a new backpack because my current one does not fit everything I need and my laptop has no protection and is just put in with the rest of my stuff. I've have this backpack for 10 years and it's time is about up.

I'm just looking for a backpack that will fit all my needs and give me the OPTION to conceal one of my EDC's.

I have a camelback back pack that actually has quite a few different felt lined pouches designed for a handgun as well as a discreet back pad/pouch.
Don't know the name of it but it's well made and discreet.
Google ccw backpack and there are some videos of the different camelback options.

I used to run with this (Maxpedition Condor II) before my CCW and will still run this (for example when going into the woods with my 10mm Glock 20 with my 9mm or .45acp on the hip).
