    CCW - At work?

As I await for my interview in Orange--currently scheduled for May 2015 --I have plenty of time to ponder the logistics of life while conceal carrying.

My question is: For those who work in a professional office environment (law), is it best to seek approval from one's employer before carrying in the office?

it really depends. concealed means concealed.
asking for forgiveness is easier than asking for permission.
maybe bring it up casually and gauge how there feelings are about it.
i work at a wrecking yard, the owner loves it when i open carry, we are on private property.

its depend on your company policy. The worst thing if it's against company policy, you got reprimand up to dismissal

Company policy does not address the issue.

Do you want to take a chance at losing your job if they are against CCW in the office and you get caught?

if company policy doesn't address it, then carry on... concealed is concealed.

for me, my boss knew I was getting my ccw, he knows I carry, (and prob feels safer that I do anyways) He signed my original Good Cause Statement and Work Endorsement before the Peruta decision came down.

Absolutely DO NOT bring this up with your employer. No good will come of it.

Depends. Mine and my friends, who works in a different field than me, both have restrictions not to carry at work on our permit. As long as your permit doesn't have that restriction and there is no company policy against it then you should be good to go.

I know where I work they have a policy against bringing firearms to work, CCW or not won't fly.

Most companies will have a no weapons policy. It's up to you if you want to risk asking. I know San Berdoo sends a letter to your work that tells them your applying for ccw, so they'll know anyway. Not sure about OC.

Wife didn't tell her company. Owner called her in and got really pissy with her when he received the letter from the county because he thought she was looking for another job.

When she told him "NO, I applied for a permit to carry a gun"
he was like "Oh, nevermind, guess I better never mess with you, ha ha"

We already have the only reasonable Gun Control we need, It's called the Second Amendment and it's the government it controls.

I carry at work and let my boss know. He throws in to save on shipping when we buy ammo. We've had to lay a few people off recently and he joked about knowing where to go if we see any of them come back.
                            Have a good day!
