    Multi State and CA CCW

Who is doing them around or near Palmdale. I call a handful of LGS and was told they don't do it

Under CA laws, each issuing agency determines which CCW course they accept.
So, your issuing agency will inform you on which CCW course they approve/accept.

Therefore, you need to find out which CA CCW course that is approved by your issuing agency and then find out if they also do "multi-state CCW" instructions.

Palmdale is in Los Angeles County and is a contract city for the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department.

So, your issuing agency is the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department.

Good luck trying to get a CA LTC permit.

What states do you want? You can do a course in NV that would cover AZ and UT too I think. Let us know what states you want and we can help further.

If you can take 5 days off, go to Front Sight in Parump NV, you can get: NV, Fl, Utah done in one shot.

Buy a cheap 4 day and two day certificate from someone, maybe cost you ~$75.00, + the $50.00 Front Sight will charge you for the background check, in the class they will take your pictures, fingerprint and noterize your forms, you mail in FL and Utah, and for NV go to Clark County or Nye county and finish it in person.

You will be out also: ammo, travel, hotel (unless you camp outside the gate of Front Sight.

And you will get 5 days training!

At FS you will have to go to Nye County as that is where the training took place.

No, not true, ANYWHERE in Nevada. My wife and I have always have and will renew this November in Clark County (Las Vegas). This will be our second renewal since the original permit.

Where you take the training is unimportant, all that is important is that it is Nevada approved.

No problem, also: wife and I took numerous classes both basic and advanced using our Kahr PM40's at FS, BUT I think your Kahr P380 will now be too small for classes at FS.

To the original poster; did you ever get a Utah class? I'm not opposed to driving if you can round up several people to take the class.

As for Nevada; Nevada CCW training is controlled by the The Nevada Sheriffs and Chiefs Association (NVSCA) and while not specified in the Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS), it is specified in the NVSCA document that specifies the training for non-resident CCW be taken in the county that the non-resident will apply. You don't have to take the renewal in the same county forever, but the same restriction applies, namely you have to take the training in the county you will apply for renewal.

                              NRS 202.3657,3,c,(2) http://leg.state.nv.us/NRS/NRS-202.html#NRS202Sec3673

"(2) Successfully completed a course in firearm safety offered by a federal, state or local law enforcement agency, community college, university or national organization that certifies instructors in firearm safety. Such a course must include instruction in the use of handguns and in the laws of this State relating to the use of a firearm. A sheriff may not approve a course in firearm safety pursuant to subparagraph (1) unless the sheriff determines that the course meets any standards that are established by the Nevada Sheriffs’ and Chiefs’ Association or, if the Nevada Sheriffs’ and Chiefs’ Association ceases to exist, its legal successor."

                              III. NON-RESIDENT PERMIT/NEW
                              Training
All training must take place within the state of Nevada, and in the county in which the person will apply for the non-resident permit. If that county does not have approved instructors the applicant may go to the nearest county that does.
