CCW class

I am hopefully nearing he end of my wait and I have been researching classes for my CCW. I am in SJ co. I have seen advertisements here on CG, and they say they are SJ approved. But when I check on SJ's website they are not listed. So I called the SO and asked them. I talked to a lady, (not Melanie) and she said that if they are not on the list, there are 12 on the list, they are not approved. But I pm'd one not on the list and he states that he is approved.

Can anyone clear this up?

Well, I can only speak for Ventura County. I was approved to be an instructor last week but, I was warned that it might take a little while before the list is updated. This is just because he likes to add several people at a time to be more efficient. That said, I will not teach until I see my name on the list just because, I don't want there to be any question about my credentials.

I was told today that you can use a vendor not on the SJCO list but it will slow down your issue process as they will need to verify the vendor prior to issue.

Here in Stanislaus I was told if there not on the list, there not approved. Then again I heard getting a permit in SJ County is near impossible with the current Sheriff. Good luck, I would stick to there list....just my .02

Totally agree. Eyes on the prize. I've heard nothing but good things about LFI. If you are willing to travel up to Sacramento you California Security Training Academy is on the SJ Co. list. The 16-hour class is $115.

I work in Stockton. I own property in Stockton. I attend church in Stockton. I appreciate what Stockton has to offer. My wife and I just couldn't continue to raise our kids in Stockton.
