I plan to include court docs, evidence provided to the judge, etc. The current order was imposed after she violated the original civil restraining order.
It is my desire to state my case and "good cause" without overstating.
      Any comments re this approach?
Thanks for the assistance. I've been waiting a long time for this and would truly appreciate any guidance you'd like to offer.
Documentation is great, if your have a restraining order you should be in very good shape. Give them copies.

If you feel like it, contact a few of the members of the forum here and PM them your GC statement for comment and review. There are a couple of guys here that will tell you it worked well for them.

Provide material support for each reason you give, be specific. Harassment? Here is the restraining order. Threats? Here are the police reports. You get the idea, but make sure you back up each individual cause with specific documentation rather than presenting a general overview of the situation. Just remember that nothing is assumed. They will also give you the opportunity to provide additional documentation if they feel it is necessary.

For the people who have completed their CCW, I have a question. I have completed and submitted all documents. The investigator has confirmed that I have submitted all documents. That was two weeks ago. I still haven't gotten a call for a final pick up date. Is there a final approval or something that they are waiting for?

Two weeks? You're just getting started. You can start to wonder when it's been two months (seriously.).

The item that typically holds things up the most is the Live Scan results.
I hear that is running about 3 months.
After that comes in the file is given to the Lt for final determination.
              That could take 2 - 4 weeks.
So get comfortable, it may be a while.

My live scan has already been completed and received by the sheriff. They literally have everything. I was told by the investigator that I would receive a call for the final appointment. That was two weeks ago. So to be clear they have the live scan and my training certificate and everything else and have told me I'm just supposed to wait for a phone call to schedule my pick up

Patience young grasshopper.... they're swamped with everything that's going on, if the end result is your permit then it'll be all worth the wait.

I'm perfectly fine with waiting, just wanted to make sure that something weird didn't happen and they forgot about me

I submitted my CCW completion of training certificate 1.5 months ago, I'm still waiting to hear back about pickup date.

2 weeks is nothing to be worried about. It took them 2 weeks to get back to me for my pick up date. But I'm sure they'll get back to you soon, if not, give them a call and ask them what's the hold up.

This is so great. Thanks. I have a file of items that we included in the RO request. Letters written by my neighbor, records of "calls for service" from local PD, my notes re harassment events. It is my desire to bring enough - but not too much supporting docs.

Everything was in order and I had conditional approval end of Dec. 2014. I just didn't take the CCW class until April because I had some problems with two of my CCW listed firearms that I had to get fixed. Once they were fixed, I took the class and submitted my certificate. I've been waiting since.

1.5 months after turning everything in is a bit of a drag, have you contacted them since? If not, I suggest you call & email them. After receiving my conditional approval letter and turning in my training cert, it took them 2 1/2 weeks to get back to me for my pick up date.

I did at the 1 month mark, my case was transferred to another officer for processing. I'll reach out to them again this week.
