Shared weapon - husband, wife, same gun on each one's LTC

Can a husband and wife both list the same handgun when applying for a ccw permit in Orange County? Or, only the registered owner?
Can a handgun be registered to 2 people at the same time?

    1) is up to the issuing agency; I do not know about OC.

    2) No; no provision for that in CA law.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

When last I went through the process in OC for both initial issuance and renewal, they checked the registration of each weapon. I know this because one weapon I was putting on my CCW showed as not registered to me. It turned out to be an error on the DROS when I purchased it and was easily fixed via DOJ, but OCSD did check and I was not allowed to list that weapon until I was its official registered owner.

In OC weapons must be registered to the individuals seeking the permit. You can't use your wife's gun and vice-versa. You cannot share the same gun between two permits.

This is kind of crazy. What if you and your wife both have LTC's are in a car together and you run out, leaving your wife in the car with your weapon?

All of "our" weapons are in my name. She's had plenty of practice firing them, and I'd have no problem with her carrying if she chooses to get a permit, but she doesn't have anything in her name. Plus I'd be concerned about the aforementioned instance where she might be in the car temporarily with my weapon.

The OP is in OC, you're in Tracy. Check with your issuing agency, each is different. Some posters have stated their agencies permit sharing guns between permits.

              Curious to know as well.
San Bernardino you can. One of the firearms listed on the back needs to be registered to the person on the front.
My wife bought a gun to meet the requirement.

A Sac Sheriff Deputy confirmed that this is allowed when I was doing my renewal.
