    Background checks pre-app

Considering recent events, I want to start preparing for my ccw application and want my info to match their background info exactly. Is there a way online to complete all background, dmv, fingerprint checks on my own before submitting to an official one?

Not sure what you are going for, but the most complete would be a "COE" "certificate of elligibility" or as simple as a CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE BUREAU OF FIREARMS "Personal Firearms Eligibility Check Application",

go to the CALF DOJ website and you can read about them and see which one is closest to what you are looking for.

I want to pay for the exact same checks that the sheriff will do for a ccw.

Access to criminal history summary records maintained by the DOJ is restricted by law to legitimate law enforcement purposes and authorized applicant agencies. However, individuals have the right to request a copy of their own criminal history record from the Department to review for accuracy and completeness. Requests from third parties are not authorized and will not be processed. Note: Criminal history records requested for an individual’s own review cannot be used for Visa/Immigration or any foreign nation transactions.

I would search then court records for anywhere you have lived. Most have at least the case numbers online.

I would get a DMV report.

CalDOJ doesn't have many, many records.

Come on now....there is a little more to than that.

1.Go get a DMV printout of your driving record.
2.Livescan to include NCIC criminal background, because not everyone here lived in California their whole lives.
            3.Current FICO score.
4.Proper knowledge on how to tie a bow tie and Japanese tea service.

3 and 4 are optional. But 1 and 2 are looking to be the ones that the Sheriff is gonna look at.

Personally Im going to go into the interview like I was prepared for trial. And yes I will have a printout of my FICO, tax records, Employment records, professional licensees and current list of disqualifying 'Moral' hurdles that the Sheriff uses for hiring.

Plus I dont do Face book, twitter, have a very common name and dont act like a buffoon on the interwebs.

NCIC seems to be through a different set of prints - see http://www.livescan-fingerprinting.n...ckground-check
                Note
Currently it takes the FBI’s Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Division approximately twelve (12) weeks from the date of submission to process an individual’s FBI Background Check requests.
But obviously quicker through an LE agency.

And, since the OP already mentioned DMV, didn't seem necessary to repeat it.

Lear60man, I agree with your strategy. Hence my question. Thanks to all!
