Can you ride public transit with CCW?

I have a question that is sure to come up if CA moves to becoming a shall issue state.

Are there any restrictions to CCW while riding the bus or subway? I ask this as this will surely be a topic that may come up.
"Prohibit the peasants from owning katanas, wakizashis, arrows, spears, or matchlock rifles. If the peasants are armed, they will not pay nengu (taxes) and they will not be subordinate to the officials."

Toyotomi Hideyoshi's Sword Hunt Edict of 1588, establishing the class division between the peasants (commoners) and the samurai (the governing elites).

Expect a new list of 'prohibited places' to come up if CCW's are eventually allowed. I expect the minds in Excremento to put everything but your home on that list.

They will fight this until their last breath.

Wouldn't that be a civil rights violation though? A licensed CCW is legally able to conceal carry in all public areas.

Private property, that I have no problem with; they are clear to make up their own rules within their property.

But public property, ones that are paid for with taxpayer dollars, is meant for all. This includes sidewalk, street, parks, schools, courtrooms, gov't offices, and public transit.

Check the website of the specific carrier. Additionally, you don't generally need to go through a metal detector to get on a bus. You may have to to get on a subway.

A CCW holder is exempt from the gun free school zone. They may carry their weapon.

With a CCW, carry is allowed almost everywhere; even exempt from the school zone no carry.
The list of exempted places is basically government buildings and places politicians fear you might shoot them.

I thought that covered school grounds, not school buildings? His statement is that you can't CCW IN schools.

The way zones are defined, buildings are included for k-12.

Right, thanks Librarian. I think I was confusing them with college grounds. Its college and university buildings we aren't allowed in with a CCW, right?

I routinely carry on the trains in San Diego when visiting my father. Currently perfectly legal.

I'm on the Northbound train as we speak from SD to Irvine. Amtrak police had an explosive dog sniffing people in San Diego. It made me wonder if the dog coulda picked up a gun and if so, what would have happened.

I've carried on the Larkspur ferry and Golden Gate Transit buses before without issues.
