List an SSE handgun on CCW

Has anybody experienced any problems (or lack of problems) getting an SSE-purchased handgun listed on their CCW? My issuing agency is Fresno County SD, and I remember that the interviewer wanted to be very clear that the guns I listed were registered to me (meaning, I assume, that they were going to check the DROS records). I am also concerned that sometimes SSE involves using a smaller caliber barrel insert, so that the gun may be DROSed as a smaller caliber than it actually is.

I would hate to SSE a subcompact pistol then find out that I can't get it on my CCW.

It's a legally owned pistol. Of course that doesn't matter to haters/restricters, but, it is a legally owned pistol.

I hope it isn't a problem, I want my primary to be an "off roster".

I've seen answers on both sides .. I'm guessing it depends on your IA. Just watching for first hand answers.

I have a SSE on my permit. Didn't even come up as an issue. Not a single question about it.

I have two off roster pistols on my permit in RivCo... If it's legally yours then you are fine.

The roster's only effect is it controls what handguns FFL dealers can and cannot sell. It is 100% unrelated to possession or carry. Most Californians that own multiple handguns generally possess an off-roster handgun.

My M&P 9-C just fell off the roster. I'm in the process to get my permit.

So how would anybody know that it was bought as a SSE?
That's a real question, not rhetorical.
Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.

Its DROSed as a single shot and occasionally a different caliber

I wonder what would happen if you killed someone with a SSE gun. Ayoob states to never modify the trigger of a carry gun as the DA will use it against you. I would imagine a SSE would be similar. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Why would they know it was SSE'd in the first place? You can legally move into the state with off roster guns and/or buy via a PPT from someone who has done the same. Nothing at all illegal or problematic about that.

If you are really concerned, PPT it from someone instead of SSE.

Like others have said you should be good to go.

On another note has anyone listed a gun that was capable of caliber swaps? For instance dropping a 40-9 lone wolf barrel in a Glock 27?
