There it is. Which county are you applying in? Sac County wants it on a separate piece of paper, at least they did when I first applied in '11 and renewed last summer.
Like granular silica through an equatorially constricted chronographic vessel, so are the circadian georotations of our metabolic persistences.

It's in Section 7 of the standard application (BOF 4012), "Interviewer's Notes".

Here's a link to the application from the Butte SO site. It has all of the sections.

Rumor is Red Bluff Chief will not approve anyone. Would you mind keeping us in the loop if Red Bluff approves or not?

ok got it downloaded and see this now
If the CCW license is desired for self-protection, the protection of others, or for the protection of large sums of money or
valuable property, you are required to explain and provide good cause for issuance of the license.
so self protection on myself and family is not enough ? wish we still had access to the old GC statements that disappeared from the CCW site

yes i have heard the same rumor about the city of Red Bluff, but ran into Frank Caltabiano that holds the CCW class and he said go for it even in the city but will let you all know once all is said and done .. figure if the city says no then i will see if i can force the Sheriff to take my app as i know they issue for self defence....

It is still up to the individual locality on what they will accept as good cause. It is unfortunate that is still dependent on local politics. Hopefully the Peruta decision will help us in that regard.

I think the wording on the form follows DOJ's "opinion" and is not binding on any chief LEO. They can still issue at their discretion regardless of the form.

Butte's application instructions state for the applicant to fill out sections 1-8 and turn it in when doing the livescan. They also state there will be no interview and that no witness is required.

Hope it goes smoothly. Personally I'd have waited to see if San Diego doesn't file to try to seek an en banc review of Peruta. I believe it's just another couple of weeks that SD has left, and if they don't, then the CA9 ruling on Good Cause stands and Butte could not deny you based on Good Cause.

Oh, I'm wrong, looks like we might not know if Peruta stands as is until April 10th.

                        Butte issues anyway.

My PD & SO has then entire app, but see this:
                            Important Instructions
                            1. Complete, read, and sign Sections 1 through 5, as directed...

                            2. Sections 6, 7, and 8 must be completed in the presence of an official of the licensing agency.

                            3. Review Section 7 and be prepared to answer these questions orally. Do not write anything in Section 7 unless specifically directed to do so by the licensing agency.
Of course, my SO wants you to have the whole thing filled out ahead of time, including section 7 (minus the signature in section 8). Perhaps that has something to do with why they don't supply you the final pages? Perhaps they want to "spring" those questions on you?

But at least you can have all the answers ready to give even if you have to hand-write it all while there.
