I understand that the LA County and Santa Clara County Sheriffs have had no complaints about issued permits not fitting in wallets.

Perhaps you should have sought a license there?

I got a small permit wallet that I put my HSC and out of state CCWs in and it has a clip on the outside that I put the Sac County CCW under. All that fits nicely in my shirt pocket......when I carry, I also put my D/L under the windowed section in there.

With this set up....there's no going for your rear pants pocket during a traffic stop and everything readily available.

So the left edge gets raggedy, it's only a two year replaceable piece of paper.

That's exactly what mine looks like. After a while in the wallet the lamination begins to fail. Overall, in the wallet it's still well protected... only vulnerable to expiration due to lack of renewal appointments.

Amber and her crew saved mine in the nick of time!

If I had that problem, I'd just buy a wallet that it fits into.

Numerous people have been advised numerous times by numerous other people to do that very same thing. Humans would sometimes just rather complain.

                Lol Fun thread!
Cheap alternative..... The wallets sold at your local 99Cent stores will fit the CCW card without folding.

I'm not complaining. I just simply stated my wallet is too small for the massive permit. Before I go and buy a new wallet, I wanted to get recommendations on what to buy. It's no different than people saying I want a new holster for my ccw; what should I buy? I appreciate the legitimate input from other members. I am "OCD" when it comes to my belongings. I prefer to keep my permit clean, without bends and folds. I'm also very picky with wallets. Women pay a lot of attention to the wallets we carry. So gentlemen, think wisely. With that being said, the Louis Vuitton seems like a solid option. Thank you Sir Stunna Lot

Zomb. That's how I interpreted your initial post as well. I'm sure your very appreciative of being able to get an LTC. I am too! I'll take that license any way they give it to me.They can Flintstone that sucker and put it on a rock tablet. Congrats by the way! I will be issued in a couple of weeks. I like my things nice too, and I don't really want to have to take the laminate license and fold it in half. That's going to look unprofessional and like s*** if you have to show that to a peace officer.

From what I have seen, a longer back compartment behind the stacked credit cards, seems to do the trick. I need a new wallet anyway, and will be happy to shop for a new one, once I get the license.

I've seen some other posts on the subject and appreciate the photos here as well. That Luis Vuitton sure looks nice! I checked online. If that's real? I don't think that will be happening! I will have spent more on the wallet than the LTC!! LOL! The poster probably wouldn't tell me if it was, but if its a replica, I'd like to get one! If its for real, no offense. Be safe!

In Yuba we get this weird (3 x 5?) piece of paper with your thumbprint. They tell you DO NOT LAMINATE. An officer may have occasion to notate something on the permit. I folded and put in a plastic holder.

At the class, they recommended to make color copies and stash them in your gun cases as well as your wallet.

Anybody know if the Sac Sherrif's dept is OK with us carrying a reduced size copy?

Yep, trim it a close as possible, fold, and laminate. Fits in the space behind the CC holder that's in most wallets. Ask my IA why they didn't go to plastic DL size permits and was told the paper was the form required by the state. They also said it was preferred to laminate it so it remains readable. Can't imagine what any officer would want to write on my permit .. he has no authority to alter my permit.

After picking up my LTC, needing a new wallet anyway, and the mall being so close, It didn't take me long to find something I liked. Macy's was having a sale.

Most average wallets don't work well. Taller ones (not as much to pick from) work fine. I biker wallet would work but are generally too big. They also had a really nice "Passport" wallet that worked great, but bigger than I wanted. The Geoffrey Beene wallet I found is similar to one I've seen pics of on the forum, and it fits the LTC perfectly. It's basically 4 3/4" tall.

No, they are not okay with that.

SSD folds it in half and then laminates. It easily fits in my wallet (look earlier in the thread for pics). It didn't fit in my old wallet, pre-summer 2011. I followed a complex and painstaking procedure to fix the problem: I rode my modersicle to Kohl's, about a mile and a half down the road, and purchased a new wallet of a slightly different style for a whopping price of fifteen dollars.

                                OBG,

Your pic is what I went by when I was looking. Having it slide in sideways like that. That seems to work best. Thanks!
