I am in processing of gathering all of my info to submit to Riverside for a CCW. I am working on getting the 3 reference letters. I already have a LEO friend who has agreed to provide one, and I decided that I would ask a professional friend and quasi business partner for a letter as well.
Had lunch with him today, and he brought up recent criminal activities that have been happening in our field. After discussing for a while I told him I was considering applying for a ccw, and explained why. As he knows what my company does, he didn't blink at my reasoning. So he says, " You know, I don't believe in guns, I wish they would all go away, but that being said, I've been thinking about getting one for my home"
He then said "Even though I am against them, I will write you a letter. We live in a dangerous world, and I am concerned for my family"
I thought it was an interesting discussion. Personal convictions against the pragmatic reality of today's world.
Reality ftw.
