Granite Bay, CA Safeway "No Firearms Allowed" signs.

Just noticed this sign at Safeway in Granite Bay this evening. Is this new? I make a habit of scanning for this type of signage in every place of business, but rarely if ever see any.

    note:
I read in the sticky that private property a CCW holder allowed even if a "no firearms" sign exists. But one should courteously leave the property if asked. The Sac Sheriff stated pretty clearly during the CCW interview that if there is a "no firearms" sign that we were not allowed to carry inside said establishment.

Wife sent me this from a Santa Rosa Safeway a few days ago, it's new as well.

That sign tells a criminal it's easy pickens in here.

Do you have an email address? I work in Auburn and used to be a customer.

looks like it is company wide. I'd like to get some sort of official statement as to their stance on this from HQ.

These started popping up this summer ? Also one posted at the Modesto Safeway. They are kind of inconspicuous and blend in. Might have been there for awhile and you just now noticed it?

Normal folks (who don't want to join a "club" to buy groceries) don't even care...

They're just hanging out a plaque that they (and their customers) are unarmed in hopes they'll get robbed since any insurance repayments would likely outstrip potential profits for the same time invested. Safeway shoppers deserve exactly what they get.

There are quite a few Safeways that have these signs. Reason enough for me to shop elsewhere.

I can't even imagine the thought process that goes into the posting of a sign like that. What are they thinking? The BGs are going to see that sign and turn around? Do they get any indemnity from a lawsuit? Does the insurance company require them to place that up? If so, why?

                        I am at a loss...........
