Between background checks for a exposed firearm permit (security guard use) and a CCW?

One (LTC) is more in depth than the other (BSIS gun card).

Quiet - It is possible that it may be more in depth, but I just got an email from a credible source that it is the same. I am inclined to agree with them. I was just curious anyway.

there is a difference. DOJ backround checks are split into two separate departments. both are started and completed by two individual departments.

I've gone through both.

BSIS gun card = CA DOJ/FBI checks to see if you can legally own/possess a firearm and if you have a criminal record.

LTC permit = CA DOJ/FBI checks to see if you can legally own/possess a firearm and if you have a criminal record. Issuing agency checks your references and, depending on the issuing agency, interviews your neighbors.
