Redlands Help....

A buddy lives in Redlands and knows how accommodating SB County Sheriff is...However, he told me Redlands PD has a policy about not giving a denial letter. He says he cant go to the SB Sheriff without the letter and cant get the letter...so hes stuck.

Anyone have advice or experiences to help him?

Go to the Sheriff directly, don't worry about the PD letter.

That wasn't the case about 8 months ago...I went straight to the Redlands PD and they were more than happy to give me a letter matter a fact they had me wait whale they typed it out!

Go to the Sheriff directly, don't worry about the PD letter.

Negative, go to Redlands PD, they will issue a 'No Issue, No Cause' letter. They are not in the business of issuing CCW permits. You must first apply with the local PD, otherwise, SBSO will not process your application.

Since you are in Riverside, I have no idea if you have to first go to Riverside PD, do you?

Redlands PD only issues to city council members and friends of the police chief.
Everyone else has to get a denial letter. Kinda hit and miss, sometimes they give it and sometimes they refuse to give it. Depends on who's working, when you go talk to them.

Sounds like, in addition to SBCSO's unlawful policies, Redlands PD has some Equal Protections issues also.
