Really? I just read another CG thread saying to essentially say anything but that... I live in San Bernardino County and I would be potentially interested in applying for my CCW. I don't work at a bank or have the keys to Fort Knox, but I do have a prescription pad and a valid DEA license so I need to protect myself against druggies

I just read this and giggled in delight...
"Are you a Medical, Dental or Veterinary professional? You fear death or great bodily injury from addicts that want the drugs in your bag and/or the prescription pad on your person."
I encounter and confront people on a weekly basis who come to me for complaint XYZ... I look them up, if they are lying to me, I say no and show them the door with a "prescription" for Ibuprofen. They sure can get heated when you say no!Comment

Don't over think it, "personal protection" is all you need!!!!

As the others above have mentioned, "personal protection" is all you need in SB County.
You should get started as soon as possible. California Counties with larger populations AND good issue policies are usually pretty back logged. It'll take awhile, so it's best to get started ASAP.Comment

It's good statewide, unless there are restrictions on it. But I've never talked to anyone who had a restricted permit. You can also carry in states that honor California's permit (not too many, since California won't honor other states permits).John Bishop

When my wife went thru her interview, the background investigator at the time told her they would issue for personal and family protection, but not to protect property. So if your going to mention carrying money, valuables, etc. your emphasis should still be on personal protection.Originally posted by Garyson1311Well it looks like ive overthought it lol. So I guess I need to make that trip down the hill to pick up the paperwork.. I suppose that if "personal protection" works, adding the fact that I work at bank would be a little insurance..John Bishop
