Are the Liberals winning? I’m thinking of not renewing CCW

I’m looking at the renewal process. It’s straight forward for me.
    1. $450 fee
    2. Requal course and 8 hours
    3. CCW insurance (just for my peace of mind).
    HOWEVER!!!!!!!!!!!
What is the pathway to a CLEAN SHOOT where a CCW holder in CA is not in violation of being in a prohibited area?
Until that default no guns allowed on private property nonsense is struck down, I will ask again, where would a CLEAN SHOOT happen where there are no signs of any kind for or against CCW permission?

    Let’s say I’m $1000 into renewing a CCW
    1. I can drive around with it.
    2. Put it in a locked and tethered container unloaded when I exit the car.
      1. Have to UNLOAD AND CLEAR before I leave it in the car (all out of view from anyone else)
    3. Drive to and from my gun range where I am a Range Master and we have a sign explicitly allowing CCW.
    4. Drive to friends and family where I don’t have to stop for gas.
    5. Walk around my neighborhood on public sidewalks.
Now………… In terms of my lifestyle………………. putting RANGE TOYS on a 3 limit CCW makes more sense than legitimate CCW category pistols. THAT WAY I can drive to and from the range with my range toy pistols in any condition I want them in (provided they are concealed and under my control and no more than 2 of them). I could just have them loaded in my range box next to me on the front passenger seat.

So I’m on the fence here. I’ll probably bite the bullet and renew one last time and see how the courts flush out in that time. I’d hate to terminate it, then have to start up a new one under more arduous requirements.

But is it really worth $1,000 to really only effectively carry while working as a Range Master on the gun range.

It is dramatically more probable I will be caught printing, and be in a prohibited area under the current law than I would need to defend myself in court for self defense use of the CCW. Either way, they would take me out of circulation as a gun owner.

I suppose that's the whole point of the Liberals isn't it?

FYI A legal defense fund plan, ("insurance") covers more than you think, some cover a lot of self defense scenarios. What if you pepper spray someone and they die from heart attack? Worth having even if you do not carry a firearm. Home defense alone. Civil case can take all your money even on a good shoot. I make sure both my wife and I have this covered. And some will cover you even if you were forced to use it in one of those new ludicrous prohibited areas, that frankly any reasonable person could accidentally find themselves in.

Don't let it lapse is my view. Easier to keep it rolling and reciprocity with other states is another factor.

At some point you're going to have to make a decision for yourself on how important it is to be able to protect your life and the lives of your family. This is your god given right after all, regardless of whatever BS unconstitutional laws the left throws up. There may be consequences with whatever you decide...if you get popped carrying in a place that SB2 made illegal..or if you or a family member ends up dead because you went along with the BS and stopped carrying.

I say go with whichever choice you would have an easier time living with.

So choose wisely...and may the odds be ever in your favor.

I certainly feel ya Snoopy47, every year it seems like more money, more risk, more time, less security. I fret about the "what if's" of a legit self defense shoot. Even insured, the **** storm after wrecks lives. You are in the same spot as me.

Concealed carry is a ghetto. Out of sight, out of mind. Are you satisfying your duty? Who knows? Are you carrying safely? No accountability. No deterrence. No education.

Open carry is ultrasound for the Second Amendment.

IMO, CCW is functionally an advantage, vs OC. BG sees an OC and he becomes a target first. "got the drop on you"? Not knowing who is a threat seems to be a advantage, again IMO. No education? 16 hours for initial, 8 hours for renewal. Qualifying too. No guarantee OC is carrying safely, just because it is OC. Accountability for either is the same. Deterrence may be an advantage, or liability. Just my 2 cents. Maybe a hybrid of the 2, just print everywhere you go? (Kidding)

Short answer: Why yes, yes it is. Gum it all up enough to make it virtually impossible. They never stop.

It is more of the liability that turns me off on a ccw and the chances of being sued or charged with a crime. Even if you are 100% in the right both morally and legally. They can ruin your life.
