Working on my first renewal. For the online portion there was a 1 hour mental health presentation that is required because of SB 2. It was just over an hour with an introduction lecture with statistics followed by 4 different scenarios.

Did they happen to fix the curriculum? When I took it the law only stated "mental health" and a required amount of time.
It didn't specify MY mental health or the mental health of the THREAT, or mental heath in general as it applies to suicide and firearms. It was basically worthless. Made me actually appreciate the Army's more focused attempts at dealing with mental health as it applies to service members themselves, or their peers and to be on the look out. Before there was Polymer there was Accuracy.👍 1 -
San Bernardino County doesn't require any mental health checks on renewal. I did mine this last July. Isn't that part of SB2 on hold?"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain..."

It's not a Mental Health 'check', it is material on Mental Health that must comprise a minimum of 1 hour as part of the 16-hour initial and 8-hour renewal classes. As noted above, the requirement does not specify whose mental health is to be the focus of the material. This is required by SB2.Comment
