I wanted to post this in the training section, but it looks as if it's locked i.e. no additional comments.
I took my initial LAPD CCW training with Security Training Center in Burbank. It was held at Firing Line, which was great because the classroom & shooting were at the same location. I contacted them about a renewal course, but they said they're longer certified by LAPD.
Looked at the LAPD training list and saw many at ASR. I saw Nationwide CCW was located in Hollywood.
Pros:
Cheapest of the ones I looked into and didn't charge for additional firearms qualification.
Shooting portion at Oaktree (I'm a member and it's nearby).
Cons
Didn't find out where the shooting portion would take place until about a week before the class. I don't think it's listed on the website, but could be wrong.
There were about 20 people in the class and it felt a little crowded, both classroom and range. Instructor said they usually have fewer students and acknowledged it was more than usual.
Parking at the classroom is limited.
Minor inconveniences and I would use Nationwide CCW again. Not sure how STC lost their certification with LAPD, but I thought they did a good job.
