Coat and Tie for CCW Interview?

Or something more casual. Slacks, collared shirt, etc?

A professional appearance never hurts for an interview of any kind, but would never go below business casual myself. Everyone is different, but not all IAs are the same and I tried my best to make a good impression.

Business casual, collared shirt, slacks and appropriate shoes. Coat and tie is too much.
May I always be the type of person my dog thinks I am

I wear a suit everyday for work, "too much" is speculative.

You will be dealing with law enforcement. Dressing up to the majority is shorts and T-shirt, without rips/tears.

Alameda County Sheriff states to dress appropriately. Thought this was odd as I’ve not seen/heard that from government officials in about 40 years

Business casual, as mentioned above. Keep politics out of it. You won't get a second chance to make a first impression.

Considering the costs and time required to get a CCW, why risk it by dressing like a maroon?

I'm in mendocino. I wore jeans and a cabelas button long sleeve shirt. Personally I wouldn't try to impress.

Defund the police shirt and BLM cap! There's no reason to dress any differently than you normally do.

At San Diego Sheriff, it's "NOT" really an Interview! You are just going over the Application and Documents you sent in, with one of the Clerks!

Most of us there were just in Jeans and T-shirts...If you want to look nice for your Picture, go for it..Mine ended up looking like a REALLY bad Mugshot! DOH!

Then You are Fingerprinted and Picture taken...That's it! (20-30 min), In and Out..! Then you go home and wait till your Background check is done.

And then one day you will get an Approval text and an e-mail saying to pay outstanding balance and your Card will be mailed to you!

You Mileage (time in cue) may vary!

Thanks for all of the input. Finished my appt this morning. Now the 90 day wait begins. Very impressed with the San Diego Sheriff's Dept.

I think I wore jeans and a hoodie.
