    That was brutal.......

Effectively what happened was I rounded out my entire CCW process and the Forum Migration took effect and I had no one to run to the internet and decompress after the Psych interview.

Anyway, everything is done pending the Psych report. I had already been given a preliminary approval and already did the range time and 16 hours.

It really comes down to three major focuses.
    1) Alcohol or substance dependency.
    2) Manger management.
    3) Suicidal thoughts.

There were a few other things I didn't think belonged anyway, and were more or less BACKGROUND type questions, and not psychological. This part of the process seems to try and be the catch all of things they really can't ask otherwise in a straight forward background check.

Honestly, I don't think it was invasive at all.

Who is your IA? What county? And what did they charge you for the psych eval?

The mere act of requiring a psych eval...aside from being patently unconstitutional...is invasive. It is also my belief that the results of the psych eval are evaluated subjectively and not objectively. A human will be looking at the results and then make a very subjective assessment on whether or not they feel you deserve a CCW permit. More unconstitutionality. Then there is the cost and the time it takes for this nonsense...and it happens every two freaking years which is just ridiculous. And expensive.

Let us know if you ultimately get approved.

Many forget it wasn't long ago a CCW was absolutely out of the question.

So we have to take our wins and keep pecking at it.

Clearly, the CCW interviews haven't been modified for the common civilian. They are using LEO employment application questions. Who cares if I would like a job as a carpenter verses a journalist. What's that have to do with any random citizen seeking a CCW?

Soooooooooooooo................ it only helps to vet the process to build the population of applications that have gone through the process. When enough have been rejected then class action traction can get started.

        **************
Funny............. Kudos to those taking on the liability. In a free state where a guy that wrongfully uses the CCW in that state that more or less keeps itself out of the permit process the state and law enforcement are clear of the liability in that misuse. Where we are the Psychologist, the range Trainers, and the IA with unique polices have all stepped into the liability chain for failing to do their jobs and prevent that misuse.

I would essentially give up a CCW for the roster to be repealed, that would be more life changing than having the CCW. I just enjoy the irony thousands are now walking around with firearms which is the furthest thing from what anti-gunners wanted.

Well, he actually said "Manger Management." I think it means that when it is Christmas time, you have to put up a nice Manger with the Nativity scene you put up on your lawn.

At least there is a direct meaning for his typo, unlike tere hanges, which can and does mean just about anything!
