Well this is my first post and I really havent even had time to check out the site much. I wanted to give a quick account of my recent experience with ventura county. So far what I have read was that Ventura may issue but its still tough and takes a very long time. I turned my application in on Feb 10 (last month) and recieved my ccw today, just about 1 1/2 months, I figured that was pretty quick. When I had my interview the detective told me the interview would take 30-40 min typically but said my app was filled out very well and he really didnt have any questions, I am a business owner and dont know if that had anything to do with the quick turn around, but the detective also said after the brief interview that they were very caught up and I would probably hear back sooner than their normal 90 days.
If anyone was reluctant in the past in Ventura county this may be a great time for you to submit your application. Just thought Id throw that out there since I couldnt really find any recent info regarding the VC process.
If I can add anything else it would be, just be very nice and personable with the ladies at the desk, they seem to have more pull than you might think. And remember regardless of your thoughts on the second ammendment, the sooner you realize that a human being is making this decision for you and your opinions really dont mean **** (no matter how opinionated you are) the better off you will be. I have found that in my business and in life playing by the rules has got me a lot further than simply expressing my opinion.
