Age Requirement

I'm an 19 year old male resident of Hollister (San Benito) CA. I just read through this and searched it using specific terms and i cant find anything regarding age. I have never been arrested or even handcuffed. I have no criminal violations related to a vehicle or anything else. I have always payed my taxes and have been in my current job for about a year and a half.

Questions
1.Can i apply for a CCW in San Benito?
2.Anyone local know if i have any chance of being accepted?

I'm interested in a permit for the purpose of self defense should the need arise although i highly doubt that would be a good thing to put down for good cause. I am currently living at home, would that restrict me from owning a CCW?

I have searched extensively and cant find anything in the last 3-6 months relevant to my situation.

State law does not impose an age restriction. Still living with one's parents should not be an issue.

As of last September, San Benito had 3 LTC out to civilians, none to the other categories, for 39,000 adult residents. That says, at the moment, San Benito is a difficult place to get LTC - regardless of age or living arrangement.

As a practical matter, since FFLs cannot sell handguns to under-21, you would need to get yours from a parent or grandparent. It's also illegal for FFLs to sell handgun ammunition to under-21, so getting ammo to practice would be annoying.

I think waiting until you are 21 may have 2 positive effects: the obvious, OK-he's-at-least-21 thing, and some legal efforts may be further along to make things more reasonable.
