    Moving violations affect ccw?

I picked up my ccw app from the butte sheriff today. The one area I'm concerned with is moving violations. I drive 40k+ miles a year and have had two speeding tickets in the last two years. Any opinion on the impact of these actions? Thanks guys.

    Moving violations

Unfortunately this is "subjective", the sheriff at this point could subjectively deny your permit and use the "excuse" that you lack a respect for the law.

You wrote speeding tickets, but you didn't give details. There is a difference between getting a ticket for doing 80 in a 65 versus doing 40 in a 25mph school zone.

The reality is the average driver commits 1 moving violation every 8 to 10 miles of driving.

With you driving 40K miles per year, your mileage is almost 3 times what Californians on average drive.

I would say apply for the permit, if the issue comes up in your interview, don't bs the interviewer. Most people tend to drive 5 to 10 over the posted limit anyway, so if you say you always drive the limit, you will raise red flags.

Thanks Nicki! Both were for being 10 over. Both mistakes. Driving that much leaves me open to getting caught those few times I'm over the limit. In butte county there is no interview. There are a few lines to explain the violations on the app. Would you suggest I write in the fact that I drive a lot and both were not hugely excessive in speed?

Generally speaking they regard excessive traffic violations as a blatant disregard for the law. Above all be truthfull on your application and in your interview and you should be fine. Two doesnt seem excessive and shouldnt get you DQ'd.
