appendix carry

So today I tried appendix carry with one of those "uncle mikes soft shell holster". When I was driving the seat belt sat over the gun. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a way around it? Does having a kydex holster make it better? On a side note does anyone have a comp-tac or similar holster I could rent/borrow for a Kahr CW9 for a few days? Any other info or discussion about appendix carry would be appreciated. I tried searching but could not find anything.

If you have a large enough center consul you could screw a holster rig into it and place the firearm in there. Just a thought.
