As already mentioned, reciprocity with other states, so for example you can carry concealed in Vegas with an AZ permit now.

But if you visit AZ a lot, there are a few other advantages:
1.) You can carry into a bar or restaurant that serves alcohol (though you cannot imbibe).
2.) You can carry into federal "gun free" school zones.

Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.

Ditto on the Nevada benefit. Main reason I got one. Dont need to mess with the overbearing requirements of Utah either...

Any sheriffs office, Marconi or Florin Rd for example, and there are several business around doing Livescans and fingerprinting.

I got the email stating I would be sent a packet last Tuesday and have yet to get anything in the mail. Should I email again or keep waiting?

I'm in the same boat. Shot an email over yesterday in regards to status and haven't heard anything yet. I'm pretty sure it's because they're swamped with all these applications coming in.

I know months back when I did mine it took about 4 days after the email saying one would be sent. I suspect they are just clobbered with applications so I would give it a day or so then call them.

                    Friendly folks there.

I just got off the phone with them, she told me that background checks are taking 6-8 weeks now.

Was just a matter of time that something which took 10 days 3 months ago now takes 1 1/2 to 2 months.

Arizona must be making some revenue hand over fist.

                          Bravo

Arizona is taking longer to process applications now or so it seems and that is probably due to the rush by Californians to get them. It has been a few weeks since i sent mine and I have my CA. CCW. I expect it to take a month or so and if you are in the Roseville area outside of sacramento the guy in the Roseville police department that is doing the standard prints has multiple permits for just about everywhere himself. He is a wealth of good information. Good sources with accurate info are hard to come by and he was well worth the money just for the info and finding out which permits he went for country wide. Just FYI

Sent application in July 27th. Received AZ permit Sept 19th.

Have CA CCW already. Good to go for NV and many more states.
