    Improving aim without sights

Last time I was at the range, I shot a few magazines (at close range) without the sites and I was not happy with my accuracy (distance considered). So... are there certain drills or exercises that will help me to improve my aim without the sights (or front sight only)?
    Thanks,
    Billy

Body position, grip and trigger control all factor in. But most importantly it's putting enough rounds through your gun to have the muscle memory for instinctive indexing and knowing the recoil rhythm of your gun.

And many shootings are fast, close and sights are not used. It's a good topic and not many talk about the need to be able to point shoot.

Start by taking you normal shooting stance, grip and presentation with your eyes closed. Once you have that done open your eyes and see where the gun is aimed. Make adjustments to your presentation and stance and do it again. When you get to the point where you are on target repeatedly with your eyes closed you'll have your natural point of aim. Then go the range and try it with live fire.

              ^^^
+ practice, practice, practice then practice some more. Gas airsoft pistols/semi auto paintball guns can be a great training aid but not a replacement for live fire training. There are also dvd's and classes available through several companies (i.e. Tactical Response, LMS Defense, Suarez International, etc.).

With enough practice, you can take on 'Tarannosaurus'

                    Shameless self promotion.......

I am the Suarez International Point Shooting Specialist Instructor.

                    Here are my DVD's

                    And here is my book.

The DVD's are about the "how?" and the book is more about the "why?"

Feel free to check me out first over at the warrior talk forum. I've been teaching these courses since 2005.

This actually does not take a lot of practice and is not that hard if you know the how's and the why's. Many of the Suarez International student base learned how to point shoot with the book and DVD's. When the come out to train with me, that is when I take them to places that most people believe to be impossible.

Not hard at all if you just know how!
Situations dictate strategy, strategy dictates tactics, and tactics dictate techniques......techniques should not dictate anything.

I wasted $40 on the above DVD. You can get all you will from it by watching the youtube clip:
