Is there a minimum cailber size that one must carry as a CCW weapon in Sacramento county? For example, may one carry a .32 or a .25 as a CCW? I heard at a range that the weapon must be .38 or larger. True? Thanks.

Sacramento has no policy on calibers that I have ever seen or heard of.

caliber must be larger than 22 is the only requirement. And you must qualify with that particular weapon, during your CCW course. Obviously, the larger the barrell, the more accurate you will be.

Thank you - I remember reading somewhere that it could not be a.22, but I also thought it had to be at least a .38. Can you direct me to where you found the information? I have qualified with both my .38 and my 9mm, so I am set. Thanks.

I turned in my CCW app to Sacramento Co last week, listing a .32, a .38, and a .45. The detective made no comments about caliber at all.

I was hoping to list my FN 5.7 on my ccw, is that a no go being .22 caliber? Its definitely not just a .22lr.

I can't find anywhere on the SSD website where the caliber is restricted.
