CCW Wait Support Group Thread

I've seen one of these in the handgun section, so I thought it might be a good idea to start one up here.

In the many years I've owned firearms I'm pretty much over the 10 day waiting period. It seems to whiz right on by and before I know it I'm picking up my new firearm. I turned in my Final Papers for CCW on 1-18-11 and the days could not be going by any slower. Most seem to estimate from the time you turn in your papers to the time you receive the permit to be around 10/11 days and I'm checking the mail box everyday only to find disappointment that it's not there.

I was told the wait COULD be as long as 90 days! I live in Stanislaus Co. I've waited many years for a change of attitude from the Stan. Co. SD so I guess I can wait three more months.

I'm waiting as well. Final paperwork submitted on Tuesday the 18th.

The officer said that all that had to be done now is put my permit in the type writer to fill in the info then mail it via usps certified mail and I will have it two weeks, or less, but man is this the longest few days in history

Yeah I know. I just scheduled my father for his appointment, May 25th!!!!

I will keep checking the system and see if I can get his moved up.

Just checked the system, now it's booking out to JUNE. :yikes:

My final paperwork was on the 18th as well. I totally agree that this wait period has felt like the longest. They said with in two weeks and it seems like the average is 10 days for this final process but I check the mail everyday thinking maybe ours will be sooner. I got my holster, gun and even picked the ammo to carry but walk out the door with only pepperspray. Should be in at the end of this week , around friday at earliest Im guessing.

Wait is almost over guys. Isn't it great that we are in a (almost) shall issue county thanks to CGF, NRA, and all the other people that helped?

Sheesh, 10-11 days to get a permit, and you need a support group? Riverside county is running 60-90 days.

But you are right, we should feel blessed to be in almost "shall issue" counties.

I started the process back in Mid November, so it has been nearly 3 months. I'm one of the lucky ones because if you call to start the process now you're going to be in for a 6+ month wait.

Don't want to burst any bubbles, but I dropped my final app of on the 11th, and still haven't received it. Tomorrow will be day 14 (but who's counting). I'll post here as soon as I get it, but I'd assume that you guys will be a week behind me.

Either that or they'll send out the whole batch together and we'll get ours early(hoping and praying)
