Just put in my application last week after getting all the info they requested for Kern Co. Please PM if you have any insight on this getting from 10 weeks to 16 weeks from different people.

On average from what I have read 90 days if you and paperwork are well prepared. Corrections can cause many problems and can blow your shot.CRPA and NRA Life member

In 2003 when I received mine, was about two weeks after I submitted the
application... and then I received my permit onother two weeks after the one
on-one with Sheriff Dept.
But that's 2003 and in a small town.

Thanks for all the great info. They said my application was one of the best ones and my reason for applying was solid 3x over. Now just working on what 3 pistols to choose to have on my permit and what one to do the qualify with.Comment

I didn't do anything special, they just didn't have a large backlog when I applied I guess. I did my interview and got lucky that there was still a few spots in the range class 2 weeks later. All of my references sent their questionaire paper back in promptly. Guess I just got lucky with good timing?Violence is seldom the answer, but when it is the answer it is the only answerComment
