Can a Sheriff issue a CCW to a person who does not live in there county?

Plus, the issuing sheriff has to notify the sheriff or chief where you live that the license was issued. 90 days is a royal pain in the butt to renew. I only know of one person who has done it, and he lasted three 90 day licenses before he gave it up.

Well I happen to just speak with a girl who did something like this. I'm not sure about how all the details work, but I think the sheriff in the other county did all the paperwork for the 90 day CCW, issued it to her, then pow-wowwed with her home county sheriff to tell him that her interest would exceed those 90 days, and as a courtesy to one another, her home county sheriff issues a longer permit, 2 or 3 years or whatever the standard ccw permit is. It seems like if you know a sheriff in another county and he is willing to issue you a 90 day ccw, he must really like you or feel there is a good reason for it, and he or his unders that know your story will also be able to make that call for you to help you get the permanent license too. So my question is, if you've got a sheriff who is really pro-2A but not in a county you live in, can you set it up by having business in his county or regularly going to that county, where you could get that sheriff to background you, accept your training/weaponn and issue to you the 90? Then if the sheriff's depts have working relationships with eachother, couldn't that pro-ccw sheriff have influence on the sheriff of your county to make your chances of a full permit more likely? With your app package coming over complete from one dept to another? From the girl I spoke to, it sounds like it. A back door way into ccw?
