Universal Studios CCW?

Does anyone know the policy at Universal Studios park concerning CCW?

I sent an email to them last week but have not heard from them.

They will have a blanket policy against any weapons on the premises. That being said, I have carried there before, their security is seriously lacking. You'll have no issues getting past, just keep it concealed.

I love Braves that like to push the envelope. The envelope you are pushing is patrolled by LASD and if you are made, they will be called. You will be asked to leave the premises and they will send a report to your issuing department. If it is that important to you, then by all means violate the park policy, but be prepared to deal with the envelope pushing back with a vengeance.

That is the way it is done in Los Angeles County. Been there, done that! And have a pleasant time at the park.

Since I asked the question in the first place I'll tell you the rest of the story.

Universal Studios did finally reply to my email. They were VERY polite and stated that no weapons of any kind can be brought into the park. In the next sentence they told me where to store my firearm. LACSO has a sub station on City Walk about 300 feet from the park entrance.

I was a bit nervous walking into the sub station to say the least. I removed my Drivers License and Permit to Carry and boldly walked into the office.

I explained that I was armed and wished to 'check my gun with the Sheriff'. I couldn't believe what happened next. The officer on the desk looked at my papers and asked where the firearm was. I said in my right front pocket. I was asked to follow the officer back to a room that held about 15 gun lockers. They gave me a key and told me to put it inside.

That's it. No questions asked. When I came back to get my weapon the officer just said, 'You know where it is right?' I said yes and he motioned me inside.

Very nice overall. By the way. I did not ever see a sign that said weapons were prohibited.

1st search was at the entrance staging area where purses, backpacks and baby carriages were inspected, NOT SEARCHED. Then I thought I spotted electronic scanning equipment at the turn style entrance. The also did a live scan right index finger print on EVERY person entering.

All in all I had no problems checking my gun with the Sheriff when I came into town!

We entered the City Walk area from the Woody parking lot, right off Lankershim. As we walked into City Walk a fellow in an Information Kiosk told me the entrance was, "just past the 6th palm tree on the left". I'm sorry I can't give better directions. The entrance is a small store front. Walk in and take the elevator up 1 floor to the Sheriffs office.

These folks were very nice and acted like it was an everyday thing. No problems what so ever.

Not really sure why they do it, and didn't ask. Every turnstyle has one and everyone was asked to use it.

I know someone who works there. It's used to verify people who have the annual passes. Cuts down on fraud.
