Does an average citizen construct a GC statement? Since everything I've read says "at risk more than an average citizen" or some similar language.

Granted, I have the double whammy of being "average" in risk, and living in the Bay Area so I'm ultra-screwed.

I am NOT asking anyone to write me a good cause, but some pointers would be appreciated. Even if that pointer is "don't bother".

If you're in the Bay Area, and you are just an "average citizen", don't bother. As a former CCW holder in Butte County, where a sufficient statement was "personal protection", I can tell you that getting a CCW in the Bay Area is basically an impossiobility. If you aren't a celebrity, former judge, etc. your chances of getting one are next to none. Not sure exactly which county you are in, but all of the research I have done in either Alameda or Contra Costa, have lead me to even forget about trying.

When I was taking my CCW class the guy next to me, who was in for renewal, said the San Benito County Sheriff asked him what his "good cause" was and he said the "Second Ammendment". The Sheriff said "good enough" and issued him the permit.

heck i think good cause is public safety going to and from firing ranges

the bad guys see a person leaving and think i bet his stuff is all unloaded and locked up then whammo you have thugs with my high powered rifles and pre-ban magazines

if i am unable to stop this they may be used on your officers
