CCW Interview - Dublin Office, Alameda County

I'm scheduled for an in-person interview for CCW permit in Dublin, CA Alameda County. She said it's going to be 20 to 30 mins interview.

I was wondering if anyone have gone through the interview at the Dublin CA office. What type of questions asked, how should the questions answered, what area I should be focusing on and what to avoid? Any feedbacks, suggestions or recommendation would be greatly appreciated.

Just answer their questions, be honest, keep it brief, no need to elaborate or volunteer any information they aren't asking for. Don't lie about your past if they ask, because they pretty much already know, and if you lie that will raise red flags. When had my interview they asked questions they aren't asking anymore because the CRPA put pressure on them.

I never felt the deputy was trying to set me up, they were professional, polite, etc. They're just there doing their job, so don't be a dick or be rude. When they asked me why I was applying for my CCW I simply told them, "because it's my constitutional right", and said no more in response to their question.

Congrats on making it to the interview portion! Can I ask when you initially submitted your application? I just submitted mine in December 2023 so I know I've got a long wait to go -- just trying to gauge exactly HOW long. Thanks!

I had my interview in San Mateo County. Very straight forward. Don?t lie as others have mentioned they know already. The very first question he asked me after verifying my ID was ?So tell me a little about yourself? to which I answered ?born and raised in San Mateo, married, 3 grown kids, work here for x years as a job title, own my home, I think that?s about it?. He said great and we went on.

I think the key is to answer the exact questions and if you don?t know, just say that. He asked ?when was the last time you had an interaction with law enforcement?. I said ?not sure, but I was pulled over like 5 or 6 years ago for speeding. I was let off with a warning?.

Things like that. It?s WAY easier than the Phycological interview after. That one was a bit stressful.

          Good luck
