With the mountain of information you provided us, the answers are: maybe / it depends.Link to my feedback: https://www.calguns.net/forum/market...ser-tradecraft -
A general rule is that a light & laser are ok on a carry gun. Also, usually modifications to your gun can be ok if they do not effect or remove any factory safeties from the gun, and any customization that doesn't violate state or federal regulations.
However, the IA for your county will have final say on what they allow so you'll need to check with them.
Exactly. Then you can visit the Concealed Carry Info Forum for your county here to find out more from what others in your area are doing:

OP, there are exceptions to the general rules noted by SDM444 above. As he states, the IA will have final say. Contra Costa County SO, for example, does not allow weapon lights, lasers or red dot sights on your carry weapon. The SO also does not allow any modifications to your carry weapon except for allowing replacement of factory iron sights with other iron sights such as tritium night sights. As noted check with your IA and review the county CCW forum.A general rule is that a light & laser are ok on a carry gun. Not sure why a laser/light wouldn’t be allowed, everyone I know with a ccw has a light and or an optic, I believe as long as it doesn’t remove any safety features or modify the way the weapon operates it is ok.Comment

Sadly not the case. Each IA has their own rules. Put a light on it CCW, it is against IA written policy, loose you permit and all the money you spent.
Yes I realize this is stupid but the rules are the rules. You have to check and see what YOUR IA says, doesn't matter what anyone else's says.Comment

As long as you are complying with your IA's restrictions/policies, your permit is good statewide, and you'll be legal in another jurisdiction.
That said, it's possible some DB LEO could give you grief in a stop, but as long as you keep your cool, you should be good to go.
Personally, I wouldn't sweat it.

Put a slightly different way; a permit is valid as long as you comply with its conditions. As soon as you no longer comply, it as if you do not have a permit. Let that sink in. Depending on what got their attention, the local policia could or could not care- you accept that risk- but your IA will likely care. A lot..Last edited by NorCalBusa; 03-23-2024, 1:59 PM.If you don't know where you are going, any road will take you thereComment

It depends on your issuing agency.
There are some LE agencies that prohibits their LEOs from using lights/lasers on their duty firearms and that prohibition carries over to their carry permit holders.
The prohibition is due to training and liability.
Lack of proper training causing safety issues (yay for defunding), which causes liability issues.
^Such as...
~Using weapon mounted lights to search/illuminate an area when deadly force is not required causing flagging issues on bystanders and/or victims.
~Using weapon mounted lasers to point out/identify unarmed non-threatening persons of interest to other LEOs.Last edited by Quiet; 03-23-2024, 3:47 PM.sigpic
