    Ventura county ccw

ok im not to sure on exactly how hard it is here to get a ccw permit. but I do know it is difficult from everything I've heard. but today I talked to Dennis Carpenter at the fair today, and he said he is not going to change the policy of the current sheriff if elected in 2010. I've also exchanged an email with Geoff Dean who stated "Simply, i believe people that meet the criteria in place should have a right to ccw." so their is some possible good news for future ccw holders in vc having an easier time obtaining their permit. Mr. Dean is also supported by the majority of the deputies and by a vast majority of the people it seems.

I'm not seeing the optimism you see in either candidate's statement. Either way, you'll need a solid good cause. Unless you're connected, mere personal protection probably won't fly with these guys, just like it didn't with Sheriff Brooks. We'll see what happens after the election and in court.

My brother talked to Geoff Dean and I guess he was saying to him that if you want one for self defense, you should be able to get one without a hassle. Im going to have to vote for him.

Ok, I just emailed him, he said that he would follow CA laws, and that using self defense as a good cause would be case to case. Sounds like the same old.

+1. Sounds like the same old double speak to me. Stating that he will "follow the law" and that "people who meet the criteria" should be able to CCW is code for "do I know you, are you famous, did you contribute to my campaign?"

You not only have to listen to what a politician says, you also have to listen to what he doesn't say.
