    Carry Insurance

    Hey ya'll,

So I've gone through a lot of old threads for CCW insurance and came to the conclusion that the best one based on the things I've read on here is CCW Safe. Unfortunately, I do not have a CCW for California yet since my local PD likes to take their sweet *** time approving those applications so I wont be eligible for CCW Safe.

I would really like to be covered inside at least my business for now which from my understanding is not covered under California's castle doctrine so it seems I'm SOL with CCW Safe home defense plan as well

I came across another insurance which is called Right to Bear Arms. I haven't really seen much on calguns about them but wanted to see if I am overlooking something?

If anyone has used or knows someone that has used them could share their thoughts it would be greatly appreciated. Their website is linked below

Real legal protection for lawful self-defense. Attorney access, criminal and civil defense, and support after a critical incident. Affordable, transparent, and built for real life.

COVERAGES offered by Right To Bear:
Civil Defense coverage allows you to choose your own attorney in the event you are sued after a self-defense incident.

Criminal Defense coverage provides legal support in the event you are criminally charged after a self-defense incident. (You choose your own attorney)

Multi state coverage offers you protection in 50 states. Residents of New York, New Jersey, and Washington do not qualify for our membership.

Expert Witness coverage will provide an “expert witness” to testify on your behalf.

Psychological support provides coverage for counseling sessions due to stress/trauma experienced from a self-defense incident.

Bail Bond Reimbursement provides money for bail up to $100,000.

Additional Associate Coverage extends coverage to a spouse or household partner.

Gun replacement – We will replace your gun if taken after a self-defense incident.

This list of features is pretty common. It seems like your obstacle is whether or not the "insurance" (which usually isn't insurance. If this is news to you, research more.) covers you at work if you don't have a CCW. You probably need to call the companies to see who covers you best in this fairly specific situation.

Bail amounts, gun replacement, psychological help, expert coverage... These are fairly common. This doesn't mean it doesn't matter, but it wouldn't be the focus of my search.

CCWSafe requires "a" CCW. I signed up with a Utah permit so I would be good to go the day I picked up the CA.

Oh I have a Virginia ccw, I wasn?t sure if they required you to have a ccw in the state you needed the ?insurance?, if that?s the case I should be able to sign up for ccw safe

I think your concern is well founded. Your VA CCW isn't valid in CA; therefore, I wouldn't expect CCWSafe to protect you. If it does, great. But I would confirm with them in writing.

There are some companies that offer protection for self defense actions in your home, as you know. I think you are going to have to ask each company individually to confirm your circumstances would be protected.

Your situation is atypical. Please let us know what you find.
