    Strong side and seat damage

Most of my carrying has been done appendix forward, shoulder holster, or pocket. I recently started trying out strong side carry just behind the right hip around the house, and in a relatively short period of time the gun has worn a patch off of the admittedly cheap upholstery on my desk chair. When I sit in my car it seems to me the gun butt is putting a great deal of pressure on the seat, and I suspect it would cause damage pretty quickly. Does anyone use protectors for their car seats, or does no one else have this problem?

Yes, it's an issue for those of us who carry 4:30 and don't remove our rig when we drive, at least for me it is. I just started noticing a hint of wear in my truck and I'm thinking seat covers.

If I buy and nice new vehicle with leather seats I will have to rethink my carry rig.

        I carry 230-3 strongside.

Maybe scoot it forward when driving? Or try a seat cushion.

IMO, 430 is useless if you need to access your gun while driving.

Or as suggested above, remove your rig.

Put on 2 sets of seat covers. When the first begins to wear out, replace it.

          Sorry, not sorry.

Clear plastic. You?ll thank me later.

Seriously though, check out the video of the nut job in the church in White Settlement TX. The first security guy was carrying at 3:30 and he had to stand up to get a hold of his gun. Not only did this tell the nut job to shoot him next, but it added about 5 seconds to his abysmally slow draw. Needless to say, he took a shotgun blast at 3 yards.

I can draw 4:30 while driving no problem. In fact it's the only way I think I could. Speaking of IWB anyway, 3:00 OWB no problem of course.

I fill the seat front to back, side to side.

The gun goes in the passenger side seatbelt clip until I get out.

The seat bolsters in my truck prevent me from even thinking about behind the hip carry. But I would think a seat cover...or two...would solve this problem.

Ok, looks like it is not just me. I will look into a seat protector for my car, and maybe an Andrews Leather Carjacker holster for the wife s car.

Not the best ad pic I've ever seen. Maybe it's just me but pointing a gun at my nuts with my finger on the trigger isn't my preferred draw.

I am married, so I do not have to worry about that.

I use a MS Criterion at 4-4:30. My 26 rides deep and doesn't make contact with the seat. I can pull it quickly, but need to get out of my car/truck to re-holster. I do get holes in my Carhartt t-shirts from the stock rear sights though.

No problems in Corvette bucket seats with a little 3" Kahr PM9 IWB at 3:30.
