For those that are applyhing through MyCCW

For those of you who applied through departments that utilize the MyCCW to submit all the initial information, paperwork, qualifications, etc. once you've submitted all requirements, are you guys seeing any updates or activity? I submitted all my requirements but tried to reach them with no response. not seeing any updates on their end and yes i know it takes time but i keep getting the alert that my background check expires in X amount of days and i just want to make sure i didn't miss anything on my end but can't be sure because the MyCCW team doesn't answer the emails. While i was applying they were pretty responsive but once all the documents were submitted...practically crickets. lol

    How about you guys?

Call your IA and ask them if they have all the documentation they require and what the status of your application is.

Let them know that you are not getting any response from MyCCW.

    Good luck.

Check your "flow" and make sure all is completed. One of my proof of residence's was in spouses name. No email or notice just not completed. I uploaded the cell phone bill that had both of our names on it and showed complete the next day.
Also, write a letter requesting an extension. Explain that everything has been completed but process in not progressing. Sign the letter, scan it in and upload it to the "good cause" or "moral character" section. It is buried somewhere in the help files, but it requires you to actually upload a letter to make the request.

I do check the "flow" almost daily since i haven't received any responses from the MyCCW team. It's at 80% and the last 2 sections accounting for the remaining 20% says that no action is needed on my part as those last 2 are handled by MyCCW however since i keep getting what seems to be automated messages that my background check will expire in X amount of days, i just wanted to make sure that i didn't miss anything or if my file got lost somewhere that the people handling the file might not process it in time to hand over to the police department for their consideration.

I'm not sure if MyCCW actually does any of the background investigating or whatever else they do or if they just put together a completed "file" that they give to the police department and then their respective staff does their background checks, investigations, etc. before giving the final approval.

I'm under the assumption that MyCCW just puts together the file initially so that the police department doesn't have to do all the busy work of obtaining various documents, fingerprints, etc. I'm thinking that MyCCW compiles everything, verifies the documents are good to go and then hands it over as a complete file that the department for them to begin their process. I could be wrong though so if you know if MyCCW actually does the thorough background investigations/interviews, etc. please let me know.

I know for sure that the IA runs the firearms and will let MyCCW know if there are issues.
When I sent them questions I usually got a quick response. Make sure you are sending it to support@myccw.us. I include my ID number in the subject like XXPD202302140344 Support Request. My question was a simple "All of my documents show as completed but the flow is stuck at 80%. Is there anything else I need to do as I am being notified that I will expire in X days."
FYIW, The support link in the flow did not work for me.

You should also get an auto-reply like this:

Thanks for reaching out. This confirms we have received your message and an Agent will respond to you promptly.

In the meantime, take a look at our FAQs at https://www.myccw.us/#FAQs or via the link on your dashboard. You may just find what you're looking for.

If you happen to come across the answers you need just let us know with a simple "problem solved" response to this email.

NOTE: For your security we do not accept documents via email. All documents must be securely uploaded through your dashboard. We recommend using a Chrome or Safari browser on a non-workplace device when accessing resources.

Thanks for the input. I did receive the automated email and usually they are pretty quick to respond. it's usually within a day or two but as of recent, they've never responded and i've sent multiple emails.

Well hopefully things pan out and maybe they are just doing the front end work to get things ready...hoping for the best.
