      Cool. And good luck.

FYI. IF you are denied, then you will need to declare that denial on all future applications in California. And what IA wants to be the IA that issued to the person previously denied by another IA?

Of course, the process in CA might change....

For now, one might want to not apply until they believe, based on otjers' documented successes in their county or city, that they have perhaps a 75% chance or better of being issued. Let others be the guinea pigs and let the process evolve a bit before jumping in.

I was denied in 2012 by LACO Sheriff for lack of good cause. There was a push by the Calguns Foundation to get people to apply. I remember Brandon Combs (one of the attorneys on here) saying a denial based on those grounds will not impact future applications.

I did disclose it on the application and the reason for denial. Guess I will wait and see..

Just a short update.. Police Records Manager called me this last week to come down and sign the CCW application with her as witness and get a photo copy of my ID. Said I will be called in the next week by a Captain to schedule the interview.

I did ask if she has seen an influx of applications and she said yes. Averaging two applications a day compared too one a month before the ruling.

          Will continue to update.

One of my clients got his CCW with RBPD earlier this year, before the SCOTUS ruling. He said the RBPD chief who interviewed him was very nice.

It was faster for him to get his CCW via RBPD than going through LASD.

Interesting about the Psych appointment. Please share with us on the process...cost? Questions they asked, etc.

                  Good luck!

So wanted to update this sooner but life gets in the way. At the end of October 2022, Redondo suspended the process for everyone as the rewrote their policy. It was just recently posted on line (new policy) and all applicants that were in the process started moving forward again.

Out of the blue, I got a call from RBPD saying my permit was ready and to come pick it up. The new policy and process is planned to be much quicker. Overall, I’m satisfied with the process and am now a lawful CCW permit holder.

Thanks for the follow up! Can you do a synopsis of your process? It sounds like you got called out of the blue, did you have to do the psyc eval, etc.?
