M9ved to an area that honors a Cali CCW, i have notified the ccw dept of my move. i am still good to carry in my relocated area for 90 days correct? It seems pretty clear cut but want another opinion in case i have misunderstood something.

What does this mean "M9ved to an area that honors a Cali CCW"? A different state or what? Last I checked getting one in Ca is good though out the state, unless you have one of those only good in the county it was issued in.

Then you need to check that state's laws. California law will have no say in if that state will still honor a permit from California now that you reside there.

Within 10 days of moving you are required to notify your issuing agency that you moved. [PC 26210(b)]

If you moved outside of the county your issuing agency is located, then your permit expires after 90 days. [PC 26210(d)]


Some States require residents of their States to have their valid State issued CCW permit in order to legally conceal carry in that State even if they have a valid CCW permit from another State that is honored by the State.
For example...
State A honors permits from State B, but requires residents of State A to have a permit from State A in order to legally carry in State A.
Resident of State A only has permit from State B, which means they can not legally carry in State A.

Therefore, you need to check with your new State's CCW laws in order to determine if your former State's CCW permit will still be honored due to you changing residency to the new State.

Where did you hear that????

Partially correct, NO other states have reciprocity with Kaliforniastan, since they are one of the ten states that do not honor any other state permits, thus no ability to reciprocate. However as Great Made America posted, there are 24 states that will honor a Kaliforniastan LTC, these states mostly have "universal recognition" where they statutorily honor ALL other state permits.

Gotcha. I'm thinking reciprocity. But if they recognize ours by virtue of universal recognition then it's not reciprocity, just their generosity.
