    Looking for feedback please

I am posting this to ask for any feedback I can get, pro or con, regarding getting coverage for having my CCW. I know that the NRA coverage will also cover my wife at no additional fees.
There are only two that I know of, the NRA, and the USGGA or whatever their acronym is. Don't remember now exactly.
I live on disability and wife's small income so with cost being something that I need to be concerned with. I want to balance the costs with the coverage. Will sacrifice price for better coverage as long as I can work it out with this budget. It is a medical disability so it will not be getting any better. At 65, it will be even more of a burden as I will be losing a supplemental coverage.
Hopefully no TMI here, just wanting to give some background to get better feedback.
    TIA

I have uscca top tier fo $47 a month, I think it is +$13 to add a spouse. Someone made a good post on this not too long ago with a list of all the CCW insurance providers with prices and what you get. There was one for the same price as uscca but offered quite a bit more coverage. I am sure someone will post the link. Worth it to have a lawyer on standby and bail funds.

I personally went with CCW Safe because they seemed to be the most comprehensive. My wife is a successful paralegal and she was satisfied with what they offered.

You'll want to double check this as it is only my limited understanding of NRA Carry Guard (I think that's the NRA insurance you are referring to).

But my understanding is that Carry Guard is a reimbursement policy. I believe the way it works is that the policy will front you a bit of money for the initial retainer for an attorney. But after that you are responsible for paying all the expenses out of pocket and you will be reimbursed later when it's all over...assuming you are found innocent.

If you're like most people, you would have a problem coming up with that kind of money...hence the whole reason you're looking for insurance in the first place.

So make sure you read the fine print on the policy and you understand exactly how it works and what you're getting. You should check USCCA and CCW Safe as I don't believe those policies are reimbursement policies.

Ccw safe is what I use. I think its $300 for the wife and I for a year. And good coverage. My .02.

I found this video with a lawyer's perspective to be very helpful.

The key takeaways are the ability to select my own attorney and the insurance paying immediately. I.e. not a replacement policy.

For these two reasons I think USCCA and CCW Safe are worth more consideration.

I'm not sure if the NRA has resolved their insurance underwriter issues.

            Good Luck

I want to thank each of you that replied to my post. Not sure what all needs consideration other than cost for me. Does CCW so afe maybe give senior discounts?
              Thank all.of you again..

Who has that graphic with the breakdown of each provider, cost and what you get?

CCWSafe does let you pick your own attorney within their guidelines.* They want to make sure the attorney is knowledgeable and experienced with firearms law.

I still think USCCA and CCWSafe are the clear front runners in this industry and either would be a good choice.

Full disclosure I have a relationship with CCW Safe i.e. if you buy through the link on my store sight I get 10%.

Having said that the question is what are you trying to cover, are you trying to cover the potential legal costs and bail, of both a criminal investigation, and potential trial, or a civil trial and potential judgement. My personal choice is CCW Safe, for one low (by my perspective) price they cover all the legal costs including trial costs and expert witnesses, an appeal if necessary and the legal costs of a civil case. They now offer insurance to cover a judgement, but realistically you have to ask if you can even buy enough for that eventuality with the way juries award damages. Make sure to give CCW safe a good look. You don't have to prevail for them to cover the costs so there is no backdoor legal cost to your family.
