Stand Alone Mail Boxes

Since while carrying we cannot go on USPS property, I'd like to start a thread listing places with stand-alone mail boxes. So, if you need to just drop off a letter or bill, you don't have to worry about your potential legal future.

Please list City and cross streets, and other details if possible. For example:

Costa Mesa
20th St and Orange Ave, NE corner
17th St and Westminster, NW corner by Citibank

Newport Beach
Riverside Dr and Avon St, SE corner

Just go to any UPS store. They mail USPS items without the hassle. They even do PO boxes. I avoid the PO.

Many grocery stores have mail drop at the customer service counter. They sell stamps in the checkout lines.

for letters, i have used the gang mail boxes in front of the closest apartment complex. always been delivered as long as they are stamped.

Does the OP want a list of all walk up drop mail boxes? Or the ones that you can drive up to, where you can drop off outgoing mail from the comfort of your own vehicle?

There must be at least a couple of dozen walk up drop off mail boxes that I know of in the Arcata area here in Humboldt County.

Well using the supplied link, officially there are 20 drop mail boxes in Arcata, not including Humboldt State University.

All the post offices I've seen have street side drop off boxes. Just drive up and drop off. Mail order your stamps. For parcels, I use FedEx or UPS.

just pay attention to EVERY MAILBOX IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD. they all have a mail slot.....and EVERY POST OFFICE IN THE US......has a drive up drop off.

The ones I have seen in Fresno are on USPS property. CCW is a No No.

The Post Office where are box is does not have a drive up box. They never have had in the 40 years we have had a box there.

The drive up box at our post office means driving INTO the parking lot, then on the way out you dump your mail in. Big NoNo when carrying.

However, you can reach the mail box from the sidewalk.... so it does have to be a walk up. No biggie... just park and walk up.

Thanks for the mailbox link, I didn't know it existed. Just trying to help as most of the local POs near me have drive-up boxes that are on USPS Property. The UPS and FedEx comments help as well. Just intended to help out. Thanks for the input.
