    Need your help please .

Hi fellow Calgunners , so I'm renewing my ccw and I have to answer this question
List any arrest or formal charges, with or without disposition, for any criminal offenses within the U.S. or any other country (civilian or military)

I only have hunting ticket for shooting wrong bird , should I answer this question yes ?
I dont have any arrest or other issues at all not even traffic ticket.
    Thanks.

Yes, I absolutely would list the hunting ticket which may have been a misdemeanor. I would also explain the circumstances: that you are a new hunter, and confused one bird for another, and that it is a very common mistake to confuse those two particular birds..

I don't believe a ticket counts as an arrest or formal charges. However, make sure you disclose it somewhere in the application.

Some tickets absolutely are misdemeanors, including the one OP got hit with (16 USC 703) (taking migratory bird)

The penalty is specified in 16 USC 707(a). (it's a misdemeanor)

Plenty of people get tickets, and then are surprised to find out later they have a criminal misdemeanor on their record. Every day. It all depends on what the 'ticket' was for. Some 'tickets' are actually cite and release arrests.

Focus on that word "any". If in doubt, which you are because you are asking on a forum, then report it. Have you ever heard of someone being denied a renewal for over reporting?

As everyone else has probably already said, yes, of course you disclose it. Disclose everything past the age of 18 months. One guy was denied because he didn't disclose stealing Becky's eraser in 2nd grade.*

You already knew the answer, though, from when you went through the process 2 years ago. [emoji41]

A citation for a misdemeanor counts as an arrest. I've never been clear on citations for infractions or for Fish & Game (er, Fish & Wildlife) regs. Still, one should always disclose.

Your biggest problem is not notifying your IA when you got the ticket. I think that's grounds for revoking your CCW by itself. Definitely list it to them with an explanation. Being forthright about it goes a long way.

Definitely mark yes. If they ask, the bird drew first.

Yes list it I think they are looking for honesty more than anything else. As long as you didn't shoot a bald eagle you should be ok.

Misdemeanor is usually arrest and release. If you were not arrested, then it may not be a misdemeanor. At least it was the case a while back. I don't know how it is now.
