    Scam CCW course

This ridiculous ad got populated by my browser. I checked it out and even took the ten question test. It said I passed and could download my certificate of completion for $45, normally $130. Claims it is good for many states, including California. What a joke. I'm sure many of the dimmer among us are falling for it.

I have my Cal CCW as well as AZ and UT. I merely checked it out to see the extent of the scam, and was not disappointed. I needed the laugh.

They are located in Pasadena but are giving courses for resident and non resident Virginia permits. Weird.

Yeah, they say "California residents qualify to legally carry a concealed gun. Carry in over half of the Country".
But I guess it is for Virgina'a CCW only.

Perhaps I should not have used the word "Scam" in the thread title. Maybe "Deceptive". Any way, I can't change it, maybe a Mod will.

I have a customer, an older guy about 75 or 80, that took one of those online for $49 and printed it out. He was packing up his heat and headed to Costco. I told him as nicely as I could that I didn't think it was good in California (if anywhere), but he put my fears to rest when he showed me the piece of paper that said "good in all 50 states".
Buy made in USA whenever possible.

This reminds me of those courses that are offered at gun shows in California, but of course they don't apply to California lol

Ha ha yeah someone might if my customer decides to start shooting at Costco. He's a super nice old guy and a rabid 2A man, but he's not very schooled on the ways of the internet unfortunately. I suppose if he's carrying and gets robbed at gunpoint (not impossible in Victorville) then he'll be better off having it. I've seen him at the gun range before and he's not a stooge with weapons, just a stooge with the law I guess. I figure one of his buddies will set him straight and he'll be online trying to get his $49 back.

                OMG! He's carrying at COSTCO?

That's a violation of the membership agreement and can get him banned.

Interesting...wired coincidence though... During my CCW class the instructor showed a video of a non LEO shooting a crazy guy chasing people with a knife.

                        At a Costco

I wonder if he lost his membership

If it's the Modesto Costco, your facts are off.

The Shooter in that case was a peace officer as per Calif. Penal Code 830.5, who was authorized to carry off-duty by his deptartment even though he is not designated a 24 hour peace officer. Just had to follow certain conditions. In his case even the family of the "crazy person" thanked him for interceeding.

Our Costco either doesn't have a sign or it's well hidden. I have a company Costco card I didn't have to sign squat

If I recall it was just outside the entrance if it's the same one I saw.

I carry at Costco, hopefully the higher ups don't see this and figure out who I am and try to take away my privilege of paying $110 a year to wait in line 20 minutes behind all the EBT cards that I'm paying for as well.
