Early word that I've read here is that it will not be on CA's roster... too bad, I would have liked to have picked one up

Springfield Armory has not given any shipping dates on the XDE.

The XDE will never be listed on the Roster of Handguns Certified for Sale because it does not have a Chamber Load Indicator (CLI), Magazine Disconnect Mechanism (MDM), and Microstamping Array (MSA).

Since the XDE is off-Roster, it can only be legally obtained in CA via exemptions (LEO sale, PPT, etc).

If past newly released off-Roster handguns are an indicator, expect some XDE to show up, next year, in the "used" PPT market for around $900-1200.

Interesting. I hadn't heard about this gun yet. How do they achieve the reduced effort required to cycle the slide without impacting the wear to the frame?

              LOW EFFORT SLIDE (L.E.S.)
27% less effort required to manipulate the slide. Far fewer slipped pulls. Definitely comfortable, possibly life-saving.
